What do you think when people talk about “Napa Wineries”? Fancy and upscale? A bit snobby? Expensive? It doesn’t need to be.
When I think about Napa, I think about Smith Devereux Wines. Two down to earth guys who make delicious wine, have fun with their guests and produce wine at great prices while still providing Napa quality. They offer limited production wines that are sustainably farmed and hand crafted.
Some of my favorites right now are the No. 3 California Red Blend ($20) which pairs perfectly with a pasta or steak dinner. The new Vacationer Rosé ($17) is also a must! It’s easy to drink and so crisp and refreshing for the hot summer days ahead!
The Smith Devereux tasting room is located the JaM Cellars Wine and Music studio in downtown Napa. Oh by the way, did you know what Dev and Smith are musicians too?! If you’re luck you might catch a show too.
- Tasting of 4 wines, $25 per person. Tasting fees waived if of you join the wine club or for purchases of two bottles or more per person.
- “Tasting with a Vinter” experience, your opportunity to go deep into brand and wines. Lunch Options Available (Tarla Mediterranean Grill). Please notice at the time of booking if you’re interested in this option.
Wine club offers a quartery shipment of 6 bottles which you can customize, skip, or hold if needed. The wines are limited and as a club member you get to pick your favorites before they’re gone.
Every time I go wine tasting, I am looking for a story to take with me and SD Wines is by far my favorite. It’s so unexpected and refreshing to find a genuine connection and actually meet the person behide the wine.
